Pearson Talbert Named President of Aegis Health Group

March 28, 2011

Pearson Talbert has been appointed president of Aegis Health Group effective April 1, Chairman of the Board Roland Wussow announced today. Talbert assumes the position from Henry Ross, who is stepping down to pursue other interests. Ross will remain on the company’s board of directorsAegis is the nation’s leading provider of revenue growth strategies for hospitals.

Talbert, 39, currently serves as Aegis’ chief development officer. Under his direction, Aegis experienced record-setting growth in 2010, adding 30 hospitals to its client roster, including such prestigious institutions as Loma Linda University Medical Center, Bon Secours Health System, and Inova Health System as well as St. Joseph Home Health Network. His team was also instrumental in the complete rebranding of the company’s website as well as in launching a quarterly webinar series that provides practical, real-world examples of how hospitals can strategically build lasting hospital-physician relationships.

“The entire Aegis family is sad to lose Henry’s day-to-day leadership, and we wish him nothing but the best as he embarks on new ventures. Over the past decade – the last five as the company’s top officer – he has led the company with a steady hand and sound judgment, and we are pleased that he will remain on the Aegis board,” said Wussow. “At the same time we are excited about the vision and energy Pearson brings and what our future holds under his leadership. He has been very successful as a member of the senior management staff since 2009, and the board is confident he will contribute significantly in the years to come.”

For more than 20 years, Aegis Health Group has helped hundreds of hospitals build lasting relationships with their two most important audiences: favorably insured consumers and physicians. Aegis’ hospital revenue-growth solutions are now found in more than 140 hospitals across 22 states and Washington, DC.

“Aegis is uniquely positioned to help hospitals of all sizes, regardless of affiliation, attract profitable market share and build physician loyalty,” said Talbert. “I look forward to continuing the legacy of leadership Aegis has forged in helping hospitals build revenue growth and market share. As the healthcare industry continues to face new challenges in the wake of health reform, increased competition and escalating healthcare costs, the solutions that Aegis brings become even more critical for hospitals looking to be positioned as the healthcare provider of choice in their communities. If ever there was a right time for the Aegis solution, that time is now as our clients routinely not only drive revenues but also lower their own healthcare expense by utilizing the Aegis product portfolio.”

Talbert brings to his new role more than 16 years of healthcare industry experience. Immediately prior to joining Aegis Health Group, he served in various officer positions within the AIM Healthcare Services family of companies, most recently as vice president of sales and business development for Ingram & Associates, LLC. Prior to that he was with a large national healthcare provider. He holds an MBA from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of the South in Sewanee, TN.

“Pearson’s extensive knowledge of the healthcare industry and leadership abilities has already proven to be a great asset to Aegis,” noted Ross. “I have the highest confidence in his ability to take the reins and lead Aegis going forward.”
